Doula Date Nights
with Susanna & Alyssa
You're growing a baby, and you're also supposed to know exactly what you want from birth, have your partner on the same page, understand the system, trust your body, do the stretches and somehow fit a full birth course into your already working life.
No wonder it feels like a lot.
If you've found yourself saving every birth related post on social media hoping that you'll come back to it, wondering whether your partner really gets what's ahead, or whether you'll even know what to say to the hospital staff when you walk into that birth room, you're not alone and you're not behind. You just haven't had the right space yet.
Here's what most people don't realise
Birth preparation isn't just about knowing the stages of labour, having a birth plan written down or knowing all of the positions, it's about all of it, working together. It's about knowing your options well enough to make decisions in the moment with confidence, understanding your body deeply enough to work with it rather than against it, and doing all of that with your partner, present beside you, not just in the room. When the emotional, the physical, and the informed all come together, that is when preparation becomes something you can actually feel.
Introducing Doula Date Nights
Three evenings, two specialist doulas, and one beautifully held space created just for you and your birth partner.
We created this for the families who know birth education matters but need something that actually fits their life. Not a full weekend course and not hours of screen time, but something intentional, intimate, and genuinely useful.
Think softly lit room, comfortable space, delicious treats, and two doulas with specialised expertise guiding you through the preparation that changes how you experience birth and honestly just a great opportunity to spend time with your birth partner and like minded couples.
Each session runs 90 minutes and is designed to be done together, whether that's you and your partner or a person from your support team.
What you'll walk away with:
- A real understanding of how your body moves and opens through labour and how to work with it
- Movement and positioning tools you can use from pregnancy all the way through to pushing
- Clarity on your birth values and preferences and the language to advocate for them
- The ability to navigate the maternity system with confidence
- Moments of genuine connection with your birth partner around one of the biggest experiences of your lives

Meet your doulas
Cherish Birth — Alyssa
Birth Advocacy & Decision Making
Alyssa has been a presence in the birth space for 16 years, a decade of that as a practising birth doula, and in that time she has sat with families through some of the most profound, complex, and transformative moments of their lives.
She is fiercely passionate about maternal autonomy and informed decision making. Her work centres on helping families uncover their birth values, understand their options, and navigate a maternity system that doesn't always make that easy. Alyssa doesn't just support births, she advocates for them.

In your Doula Dates sessions with Alyssa, that advocacy comes to life as birth plans, rights, preferences, and navigating care providers are all on the table while she works alongside you to help you find your voice and know how to use it.
Beyond her doula work, Alyssa is a doula educator, babywearing consultant, and childbirth and parenting educator. She volunteers with Better Births Illawarra, Still Aware, and The Nurtured Village Hamper, because for Alyssa this work doesn't stop at the birth room door and it never has. It is a commitment to her community and to the families within it, and she is, in the truest sense, a force in the Illawarra birth space.
The Birth Suite — Susanna Alvarado
Movement & Positioning

Susanna is a birth doula, prenatal movement educator, and personal trainer with over 20 years of experience supporting women. As a national level powerlifter and hurdler, she brings a depth of biomechanical understanding to birth preparation that is genuinely rare in the doula space.
In your Doula Dates sessions with Susanna, she focuses on one of the most overlooked aspects of birth preparation, which is how you move. Positioning, mobility, and physical readiness have a direct influence on how labour progresses, how your baby navigates your pelvis, and how your body copes with the intensity of birth.
But the physical and the emotional are never separate, and the state of your nervous system shapes the physiology of your labour. Susanna works at the intersection of both, helping you understand how your emotional landscape and your body's movement work together, not in isolation, so you can show up to birth feeling genuinely prepared from the inside out.
